Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell and Helen Oxenbury

30/10/2019Lollipop Library

A timeless classic recounting the life of a poor little duck who is set to work on the farm by his lazy farmer boss. The downtrodden duck is tasked with all manner of hard labour jobs which the farmer is too lazy to do himself. Indeed, while Duck grows tired, the farmer grows fatter and lazier as he lies in his bed all day. That is until one day Duck’s farmyard friends hatch a plan to save their little feathered pal from his hard farming life. The soft muted colours of the detailed illustrations add much to this atmospheric picture book, while the repetitious wording brings instant familiarity to the plot after just one read through.
