The Odd Egg by Emily Gravett

As a group of birds proudly perch on their newly laid eggs, poor duck is left without an egg of his own. That is until he finds a giant one. Duck thinks his egg is beautiful but his birdy pals scoff at the oversized speckled specimen. As Duck watches all the other eggs hatch one by one, his adopted egg refuses to hatch.
