A Little Princess Story: I Want a Friend by Tony Ross

This is a lovely reassuring book for children about to start school. It tells the story of the Little Princess and her quest to find some friends to play with. When she doesn’t find any at home, the Queen reassures her daughter that she’ll make plenty of new pals when she starts school. The natural formation of childhood friendships is played out sweetly here, and the importance of sharing, communication and being kind are shown to be key.
