Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle

30/10/2019Lollipop Library

An excellent book for young readers learning about colours. The big, bold illustrations are simple yet effective and guaranteed to capture the short attention span of inquisitive toddlers. The clear drawings stand out against white space to ensure little eyes stay focused on the colour of the animal and the text on the page. The repetition in the story helps readers to easily remember the half a dozen characters in the book and after a couple of read-throughs, parents and carers will be able to read the book from memory too. Once you and your child have tired of the featured animals, simply make up your own animals and new colours to keep your little one learning for longer. The style and subject of the book makes it a good choice for those familiar with baby signing too.
