This is a great book for teaching early phonics through rhyming structures that is fun and accessible for little ones to follow. A rebellious frog refuses to sit on a log despite a bossy cat insisting he should. Instead, the frog comes up with a host of alternative places he can sit, only for the cat to argue each suggestion as the rightful place of another creature. Rhyming and repetition are used to maximum effect here, with humorous illustrations perfectly capturing the lightness of touch taken by Gray.
